yeah, ok I know its not that good of a card for 3D stuff but Its what I have and I'm trying to get it to work properly.
using the TV out and using Resolume I get the video onto the TV set I've got rigged to it but I've two problems.....its in black and white and when I maximise the video window it goes back to the pc monitor. Anyone have any ideas why these happen? should I just buy a scan convertor?
cheers for any advice in advance

no, you shouldn't have to run off and buy a scanny just yet...
I have a G450, don't know if its exactly the same..but have you gone all the way into the advanced settings? that is>display properties>settings>advanced>dual head
from here you can check out/change your settings..I know on mine for the TV output properties there is actually a Black an White setting..maybe make sure you don't have that checked...also, sometimes the black and white can be caused by having the ol' NTSC/PAL setting wrong...
As for the maximize problem...not sure..I think Resolume has written in code to take advantage of the "dvd max" setting in matrox cards....if I understand correctly, if you have dvdmax turned on, then resolume will just "see" the output window automatically..
otherwise, have you just tried the "dual-head zoom" function on the matrox? I've set mine up with a keyboard shortcut (alt + F11)..just select the output window on resolume and it should be all good!
Make sure you click the "overscan" option under the TV settings too...so there's no black border..
The Matrox really are good cards, yes a bit lacking on 3D, but very nice TV output and you can't beat the usefulness of that dual-head zoom...they can just be tricky to get set up properly.

I have a g550 in one of our machines and we use resolume all the time, like levlhead says, the zoom feature is really usefull, for V.J'ing they're great cards, I have the latest GeForce thing in our other machine, and its pants in comparison, the TV out functions are very restricted by the horrible black border which seems impossible to get rid of.
The only other thing I can think of that might cause your black & white issue is having the monitor and TV adaptor plugged into the opposite holes, if all else seems to fail try swapping them round. I can never remember which one goes in which, and I often see things like scrambly black and white images when I connect it up incorrectly.

cheers fellas, a bit more searching and head scratching got it up and running, and its spot on. it was the ntsc / pal thing which I eventually found.
thanks again for the help
