View Full Version : UK Equipment hire advice?

A gig has just come our way that is a bit more 'corporate' than our usual nightclub work and will require more equipment than we can easily source.

(It's not really all that corporate - it's for a good cause but the venue is going to be a plush bar rather than a nightclub and it'll be a VIP event so everything has to look really slick

We want to use 6 projectors hanging from 3 8' x 8' archway constructions (as there is no rigging installed in the venue). The archways will be over three small stages with a live drummer on each. I'd guess we'll need truss arches or wind up stands with crossbars. (I'd perefer truss as we can dress that up nicely more easily) we'll also need to get 6 nice screens.

One more thing - we'd like to get a couple of small cameras to use as live feeds on the night.

Can anyone reccmmend some places to hire all this (I'm not having any problems with the projectors but the bhire places I've spoken to so far haven't been able to provide the archway rigs and I want to get it all from one place if possible)

Birmingham places would be ideal, Midlands good but we'll order from anywhere in the UK if they'll deliver...

Any advice that anyone has would be much appreciated - we haven't got long to get quotes and get it sorted but we want to do a good job.

Thanks,

Dan.

You could try MCL in Birmingham, I used to deal with them many years ago (mostly cameras) but their inventory in pretty huge. best of luck.

Cheers for the suggestions, got it sorted through Electric Stage in the end. They are going to rig it which is nice :D

Basically they were cheaper, and had enough kit in than other places around here.
