um is this a trick question??

you got some symmetried (on x axis) photos and applied them to a cylinder??

or mapped the cylinder so that x is symmetried...

the edges of the cylinder have been softened...

wot?

am I missing something?

Yep thats a modded whacko AVS preset. Why does the 2 meg file make it obvious?
I got heaps of AVS content that doesn't look like the usual cheese. Unfortunately the AVS community turned into this close nit pack of nerds who dispise anything that is not composed completely of origional code. My presets still shit allover thiers though :)

hehe BINGO dudes.

AVS it is !

Asterix I've been collecting the best AVS presets for years now, ones i can map Pictures to and also compressed videos. It's been great for my branding work as you can see the result in REAL-TIME !. all you need is a fast PC and the avsgrabber.dll to export your video uncompressed.

yes there's 90% cheese but 10% off 5 years searching/collecting equates to a lot of cool visuals.

btw i have all yours :P

AVS usually gets snuffed at by the VJ community but it has been an entry point in VJing for myself and many others.
I've spent hundreds of hours making all sorts of bizarre strings which have been great add in's to my linear set or great standalones in between.
I haven't coded since the community was taken over by code snobs (filthy little supremist bastards).
Its too bad they have dropped any further development on it. Especially now that computers are finally fast enough to do the software justice!

My answer was going to be that you ate too much Foxy and went to your high school reunion with a digital camera....

But I suppose you wanted the technical answer

asterix: you probably should avoid the winamp forums, it's all about nerdiness these days.. and i don't like that either :scared:

nice video, dreamteck. with pictures in it, i didn't think of avs at all! :P

attached the avsmod, as i guess most people here don't know it. it's the standard dll edited in a resource-editor. the "dock avs in editor" feature makes some more sense now and the controls are accessible much faster.

i previously decided (http://www.vjforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=10394&highlight=avs+is+dead) not to work on new preset packs anymore. there might be some small releases and remixes. the next visbot compilation (http://www.visbot.net/?p=11) is already in the making and should be released on 21st june.

why? when i look at the presets i made between 2000 and 2005, there's a progress without a doubt. that's when i ask myself, what if i spent that time and effort into something more useful? i guess the situation was different, if avs wasn't so slow. i'm doing some video stuff lately and i plan on releasing a 12" record next year. other than that i should find a job in my profession, which is photography.

anyway, if you havn't seen my last pack, click the link above ;)

Yeah I've been toying with the idea of releasing some old faves. If I get a chance I'll put together a few packs. To be quite honest I've lost all enthusiasm for AVS over the years.
By the way I didn't mean to contest the integrity of well known AVSers - just the twits in the forums.
Yathosho your style is quite unique and I'd look forward to a new pack release. Send it through to VJforums hey :)
