The timetable has now been finalised. We are pleased to present an exciting range of practical, seminar, discussion, demonstration, screening, installation and lecture based sessions ranging from the use of interactive sensors and hardware tools to telematics and screen philosophy. Some highlights include Be the Control, Mixing Music Videos, Modulate open studios, Narrative Lab, Mike Juxta master-class, VJCulture screenings and the live body into VJing demonstrations.

The visual artists have now been finalised. The roster of artists consists of a wide range of VJs working across film, motion graphics, design, dance and interactive media. Highlights include Glamoove [Japan], VJOxygen [ Holland], VJ Anyone [UK], HFR-Lab [UK] , VJ Pause [Spain], Dubassy [UK], Pointless Creations [UK], Nokami [Canada], 4YourEye [Austria], Falk [Germany], Pixelmonkey [UK], Tektun [Spain] and many many more.

3 - ONLINE REGISTRATION
**********************************************
Online registration and session booking is now available at www.avituk.org/reg.html
Everyone who intends to come to AVITUK05 should fill in the registration section of this form [whether you are performing or not].
This will enable you to pick up a personalised pass when you arrive at AVITUK05 which entitles you to discounted food and admission to educational events. Some sessions have limited places, especially computer led workshops. To guarantee your place in any session you should pre-book using this form.
All AVITUK05 attendees must be registered to be able to attend workshops.
Please fill in all the required fields and upload a passport style photo of yourself no bigger than 400x400 pixels.
If you have any problems with the form you can contact registration@avit.org.uk for assistance.

BY ROAD
There is a secure car park just round the corner from the Custard Factory. There is also plenty of parking on the roads around the Custard Factory if you don't want to pay for car parking. Be careful not to park on double yellow lines or by a no parking sign - the clampers are very active in this area.
If coming from the north, get to M6 Junction 6 then:
* Take A38(M) Aston Expressway signed City Centre
* Take 3rd exit (before Flyover)
* At roundabout (Fire Station) take 1st exit
* At next roundabout take the 2nd exit bear left and follow Ring Road
* At the Bull Ring island turn left for Digbeth
* Follow A41 south (Digbeth High Street) and stay in left hand lane
* You will pass club 'The Sanctuary' and floodgate street, keep going to traffic lights at The Old Crown Pub
* Turn left at traffic lights into Heath Mill Lane
* Continue down Heath Mill Lane, Custard Factory is on your left (Gibb Street, one-way road)
* The Custard Factory Car Park is on the right hand side just past AIR nightclub
If coming from the South West:
Get to M5 Junction 3, then:
* Take A456 (Hagley Road) to City Centre for approximately 5 miles to Fiveways Island
* At Fiveways take the 3rd exist (Islington Row)
* Follow dual carriageway over traffic lights to roundabout (Matthew Boulton College on left, McDonalds on right)
* Continue straight ahead over traffic lights until you reach the traffic island
* Turn left at the island and stay in left hand lane until you reach traffic island
* Turn left into Digbeth High Street and cross into right hand lane
* Keep going until you see The Rainbow Public House
* Take the next slip road on right hand side at The Old Crown Pub and straight over into Heath Mill Lane
* Continue down Heath Mill Lane, Custard Factory is on your left (Gibb Street, one-way road)
* The Custard Factory Car Park is on the right hand side just past AIR nightclub
If coming from the South East, get to M42 Junction 6 then:
* Take A45 west signed City Centre for approximately 8 miles
* Road name changes from Coventry Road to Small Heath Highway
* Continue on A45 past the Citroen Garage to major island at Bordesley
* Take 2nd exit (Coventry Road) and go under railway bridge
* Turn right onto Digbeth High Street and stay in right hand lane
* Take next slip road on right at The Old Crown Pub and straight over into Heath Mill Lane
* Continue down Heath Mill Lane, Custard Factory is on your left (Gibb Street, one-way road)
* The Custard Factory Car Park is on the right hand side just past AIR nightclub
BY TRAIN
The Custard Factory is about 10 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street station and 5 minutes walk from Birmingham Moor Street Station.
Trains are available from many other cities to Birmingham New Street. You can usually save a decent amount of money by booking ahead.
Virgin trains offer a fast service between London Euston and Birmingham New Street.

If coming from London, Chiltern Railways run a good, cheap service from London Marylebone to Birmingham Snow Hill. Be aware that there are time restrictions on when you can travel with the cheaper tickets.

To walk from Birmingham New Street to the Custard Factory:
Leave the station by walking out of the main concourse next to the cookie stand and the WHSmiths newsagent. Walk to the left of the taxi pick up point. You will now see the Bull Ring shopoping centre ahead of you, over the road. Cross the road and tunr right. Follow along the edge of the shopping centre until you get to some stairs on your left. Go down them. At the bottom, turn left and walk between the shjopping centre and the markets until you get to a road. Stay on the left by the church then cross at the two pedestrian crossings to get to the other side of Digbeth High Street. Turn right and walk down digbeth high street. The Custard Factory is on the left after about 500m
To walk from Birmingham Moor Street to the Custard Factory:
Leave the station and turn left. You will see the strange silver 'hubcap' building ahead of you. Walk to the end of the road and turn left. Walk down that road until you get to another road. Cross at the pedestrian crossing and turn right. At the end of the road turn left and walk down digbeth high street. The Custard Factory is on the left after about 500m
BY BUS
The Custard Factory is 5 minutes walk from Digbeth Bus Station. National Express run bus services to Birmingham from many other UK cities and airports. It is recommended that you book ahead.

To walk from Digbeth bus station to the Custard Factory:
Leave the bus station and turn right onto Digbeth High Street. Turn right and walk until you get to a pedestrian crossing. Cross Digbeth Highstreet and turn right to continue walking down it. The Custard Factory is on the left after about 3300m
BY AIR
Several airlines offer flights into Birmingham International Airport from European cities and further afield. The airport is a short train journey away from Birmingham New Steet (see BY TRAIN, above)
Other airports worth considering are London Stansted and London Gatwick. National Express run bus services from both of these airports to Birmingham (See BY BUS, above) You can also travel by train by getting into London and then getting a train from either London Marylebone or London Euston (see BY TRAIN, above)
You can also fly to Manchester or Bristol airports. You can get trains from these cities to Birmingham New Street
Gatwick takes 30 mins by train to get to London Victoria. You then need to go two stops north on the Victoria line tube to Oxford circus, then two stops north on the bakerloo line tube to Marylebone.
Stansted takes 45 mins by train to get to London Liverpool street. You then need to go 7 stops west on the circle, hammersmith and city or metropolitan line tubes to Baker Street then one stop north on the bakerloo line to Marylebone.
GETTING AROUND BIRMINGHAM
Birmingham has a good bus service throughout the city. This is cheapest way to get around. See http://www.travelwm.co.uk/ for details of routes. The maximum fare for a single journey is ?1.10. You can get a day ticket for ?2.80
There are both Black Cab taxis and private hire car taxis in Birmingham. Black Cabs work on a meter and a more expensive that private hire cars. You must book private hire cars by phone rather than flagging them down in the street.
Black cabs typically carry 5 or 6 people. Private hire cars typically carry 4 people, but you can ask for bigger vehicles when you phone.
