OK I know a lot of aussie VJs have been hanging out waiting for something to be announced, well I don't want to get ppl's hopes to high but Spook, Jim Medcraft and I met the other night to toss the ball around on an AVIT AU for late this year (maybe november) we came up with some good ideas re: venue, funding, sponsorship, activities, etc..... it was quite a productive meeting and we have all made agendas to follow up and plan to meet again in a month.
So although we can't announce an OFFICIAL date, the ball is DEFINATELY rolling on an AVIT AU  :jump: :jump2:
BTW please post below if your interested in helping out or want to give any feedback on the ideas, I'll keep this thread updated :)
Also it was mentioned to me when I first suggested an AVIT for australia that the AVITUK ppl had some material/help/suggestions they woould be willing to give/loan us to kick start the process..... who would one talk to about this?

WooHooo i will be based in melbourne as of July this year which means i would be much more likely to be able to make it to an east coast AVIT Au!

If AVIT AU happens, what city? I have some funding contacts in Melbourne. As well a DJ friend will visit for a few months this fall in Brisbane I think and I'd like to hook her up with AVIT - she spins downtempo.

You should have it in Perth - those West Australians are always cuttin edge.... oh wait, maybe not.

I think melbourne or Sydney are the only realistic options for an AVIT Au.
Or maybe if we get a few NZ vj's we could have a southern hemisphere AVIT?
I know some ppl who do a bit of wrok for roland/edirol here so i will have to pursue them as possible industry supporters, when we have a bit more concrete information.
Oh - and West Aussies are getting very cutting edge vj-wise in the last 2 years, it's so damn far away from everything else :)
