Hi there,

Following some sucess with a thread about buying power, a shop has been set up by myself. The idea is to use group purchasing power to get cheaper prices.

Now, the proposed way in which this is ran is like follows - if someone is interested in buying an item - i would ask that the person e-mails us at info@club-visuals.com - If there is sufficient orders from VJCentral members within 72 hours of each other. I will advertise the item on the oppropriate forum - A discount will be applied. Individual orders will still get the websites very good price range.

Unless some one wants to put in loads of cash to purchase large quantities first then hope for payment - I do not see another way of doing this.

Please have a look at the site and tell me what you think or which products you would like to buy cheaper by e-mailing

Why not agree to buy an option on a quantity of v4's for example, say 20 v4's at x discounted price, you would then agree to pay for them all within say 6 months at that price, otherwise you have to pay full price for the ones taken.

Surely as a dealer you can buy at trade price anyway??? and sell them to us cheap....or on ebay.

I would be happy to pay around ?600 for a V4 bought in this way.

Thanks for the replies guys - keep them coming...

Firstly - The good news is, even if only one person wants one itemthe prices are still cheaper than any other retailer. Correct me if I am wrong.

That is bonus number one (4 months ago I paid ?750 for my V-4) so there is a saving of ?80 straight away - therefore regardless of anything - this has improved the price for people.

Secondly - If 4 or 5 units can be paid for around the same time bigger discounts are available.

There is no scheme that allows the purchase of 20 over 6 months - prices and models change too quickly also. People circumstances also change - and 4 months later - they may choose not to buy.

And another piont to note - Manufacturers will withdraw trade accounts and/or discounts if their goods are flying out the door at rock bottom prices.

I have spent a good deal of time sorting this out - and working out a way that people can pay for the goods - and the best way of me not getting lumbered with chasing people who said they would purchase and then don't.

And silent eclipse - Oli (VJ Anyone) wants a V4, I believe Retina Glitch wants one, you would make 3 - If we can get that to 5 units - and those involved pay by the friday of any given week, I will place the order, and from my conversations with Edirol I would say ?600 sounds good. I would confirm both price and delivery before any person parted with their cash.

Silent Eclipse - are you ready to purchase at around ?600?
how would you be paying - through online shop or by bank transfer?

Any anybody want a V4 or got any feedback for this idea - please send it ;)

An update

Well the shop facility has been online for two months now and with a good relationship with most manufacturers means there is not much i can't order.

Have sold a few V4's - a projector - a couple of midi keyboards and a couple of crossfaders!

Oh - for anybody that does video production - I'm adding Libec, Hague, varizoom and stuff like that. Good prices too.

Please take a look and tell me what you think.

Can you get hooked up with Sony to become an educational reseller. Quite a few of us are in part time / full time / adult education and could qualify.

Hmmm - thanks alan - i'll give it my best go - I have also just joined a community centre which i could represent - so if this does'nt work - i give up with sony - they want to see ?1/4 million turnover every 3 months otherwise! Give me rest of the week, and maybe next - and i'll post my results.
