Why is Isadora succeeding and Onadime not?
I really liked Onadime's interface and would have bought it but they stopped selling it online. I bought Isadora instead.
Does anyone know the background to these products? Is Mark Coniglio developing Isadora as a paying hobby while Onadime was launched on a sink or swim business model? Is Isadora just a better product?
I'd rather use Isadora now but I thought Onadime would be great for teaching kids video art.

Er... I didn't really want to read load of posts about how the software performed I was more interested in some expert opinion on how they were developed/marketed. So I posted here.

I met the Onadime team earlier this year and it looks like they moved away from the VJ market and are now targeting other more established markets like broadcast and entertainment. I saw a couple of impressive demos they showed me but if I remember right I did sign an NDA so I can't talk about them here.

Didn't Onadime get absorbed into Apple?
(Probably a thats a huge sucess, from his standpoint! ;) )

I know a guy in a band, but nobody's ever heard of them and they're not signed and they don't make a living at their music because this guy makes everyone sign a non-disclosure agreement... so you can't talk about what a bunch of geniuses they are. So nobody's ever heard of them and they're not signed. So I think that's the best way to make sure you succeed. Total secrecy and stifling legal red tape. Definitely the way to go.

Great band though, wish I could tell you all about them.

I understand how you feel Puck but NDAs are common practice when you work for big companies on big projects. I am quite sure I am not the only one here who can not talk about a number of things because of NDAs.

Small bands do not ask their VJs to sign NDAs, they want exposure. Big companies do not want their consultants to divulge anything about their project before the time has come . When the time has come I'll be very glad to disclose more details about what I do.

we want details!!! there's so many secrets here at VJC if we were all to divulge our secrets this place woudl be really flying!!

heh heh, j/k, i totally understand the whys and how-comes about the NDAs and respect all the juicy secrets i have heard, and will keep my lips shut even tho i never signed no non-disco-sure

but just think how excited everyone would be if they knew all the little secrets...

If you ever feel intimidated by geniuses, just tell them the plural form is actually genii. That usually baffles them, and puts a smile on your face. :jump2:
